Open Letter To Bill

Extra! Extra!

Read all about it! Breaking news!

The Blog has received a new letter from the chickens - addressed to Bill. At this time I am unable to trace the origins of the letter, but it does have all the earmarks of an authentic chicken letter. Please read on...

Dear Bill,

We have been on an egg-cellent adventure! Since we flew the coop in December we have traveled the world and met many wonderful people. We have brought you some of the souvenirs we collected in our suitcase.

Since we hatched this plan it has been enlightening. There are many places warmer than Edmonton but when we were here our nuggets got cold. We have decided to return to the roost and reacquaint ourselves with you. Please keep us safe. We are looking forward to the security of your drawer or your briefcase and don’t want to attend any more social functions for a while. We need to rest and refresh!

Your free range chickens have come home to roost. Thank you for being so patient with our teenage rebellion.

Hope you can read our chicken scratch!!

By bringing this news to light I am hoping to win a Pullet-zer Prize! But enough about me - it sure sounds like the chickens are headed back home!

More news as it comes in!

Cheerio!

Globetrotting Poltroons - Part Deux

Hidey-Ho Fowl Feathered Friends,

Previously on "The Great Escape" one of our capon crusaders was last seen at the top of Mount Merapi just outside Yogjakarta.

Chicken also visited a Stupa, a Buddhist shrine, seen below:

After that difficult early-morning climb up the volcano, Mount Merapi, our little buddy needed to rest up a bit by taking a dip in the pool:

Then - within sight of the recently conquered peak - chicken was able to relax out on the patio.

Chicken decided to get out and enjoy the action out on the beach - by catching a few waves and then a few rays. No word on the SPF level of his sunscreen - but I think we can all agree that we wouldn't want a roasted rubber chicken!

Looking forward to another post real soon! Hugs and Pecks to all our fans!

Globetrotting Poltroons

My friends,
the escapees have been sighted and we have photographic evidence of same!

Here we have a chicken about to fly the coop: in the executive lounge at LAX Airport!

And here we have the exhausted chick at the top of Mount Merapi just outside Yogjakarta, climbing (see how he needs a helping hand just to sit up - so sad). RC sure was tired - he had to get up at 1 AM to meet his guide to hike 5 KM up Mount Merapi just outside Yogjakarta.

While his night vision is good, hiking through the jungle in the dark is tough expecially in the rainy season as the trails are wet and slippery - that is if you can see them. And the tigers and snakes tend to look for chickens. RC re-evaluated the safety of Bill's bags and his brief outings at orientations, staff functions.

More to come - soon!

Regards,

the Chicks
